Membership

The number of Directors shall be nine (9). Five (5) Directors are designated or serve by virtue of their office.  They shall serve one year terms so long as they hold such office or at the pleasure of the designating authority where appropriate.  Four (4) Directors are elected by the Board members; they shall hold office for a term of one year or until the election of their successors, whichever last occurs.  All terms of office shall begin on October 1 and end on September 30, provided a successor has been elected or designated.  Each Director shall be eligible for re-election or re-designation.

a)  One Director shall be the Mayor of the City of Muncie
b)  One Director shall be designated by the Common Council of the City of Muncie from among its members
c)  One Director shall be designated by the Muncie Redevelopment Commission from among its members
d)  One Director shall be designated by the Board of Directors of Delaware Advancement Corporation, an Indiana nonprofit corporation
e)  One Director shall be designated by the Board of Directors of the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce

Elected Directors

a)  One Director shall be an owner of real property in Downtown Muncie.
b)  One Director shall be a resident of Downtown Muncie.
c)  One Director shall be a member of the Downtown Business Council.
d)  One Director shall be at large, without specific qualifications.

Ex-Officio Members

The following individuals shall serve as non-voting, advisory, ex-officio members of the Board of Directors:  the Corporation Counsel, City Attorney or an Assistant City Attorney of the City of Muncie, Indiana; the Historic Preservation Officer of the City of Muncie, Indiana; and the Executive Director of the Delaware-Muncie Metropolitan Plan Commission.
